FIRST DAYS HOME: YOUR NEW PUPPY:
ADJUSTMENT TO NEW SURROUNDINGS:
Have patience, as it takes puppies several days to adjust to their new surroundings.
We would like to offer a few suggestions that we feel would help with this adjustment. The first few nights are often the most difficult.
You may place a hot water bottle filled with warm water, wrapped in a towel (so puppy well not get burned), in the puppy's cage to simulate another puppy.
A ticking alarm clock (heart rhythm), or a radio (voice and soft music) also can be soothing.
Also if you have played with the puppy during the day take a a piece of your clothing, such as an old t-shirt that you have worn and place it in his/her cage.
Familiar smells always comfort a puppy.
Hang in there! It won't be long and your puppy will be
sleeping through the night on its own.
